Robotic and Computational Oceanography
Researcher
Computer Scientist by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (1992). He obtained his PhD from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with the work entitled "On Real-Time Face Detection in Video Streams. An Opportunistic Aprpoach". His research activities started around 1995 focusing particularly on the automatic facial analysis problem, but covering also different topics related to image processing, perceptual interaction, human-machine interaction and computer graphics. He has collaborated in around 100 papers including JCR indexed journals, book chapters and national and international conferences. He has taken part in different research projects and contracts, serving as an active reviewer for different high quality JCR journals, and conference programme committes.
