Background

The official program of postgraduate in Intelligent Systems and Numeric Applications in Engineering of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, obtained its authorization according to the Spanish law Decreto 26/2007 de 5 de febrero de la Consejería de Educación, Cultura y Deportes del Gobierno de Canarias, as well as the Resolution of May, 17th of 2007 of the Secretaría General del Consejo de Coordinación Universitaria (BOE June, 14th), and later by the Resolution of Consejo de Coordinación Universitaria at June, 26th of 2008 (BOE July, 9th), where was published the list of official postgraduate studies and their correspondent titles, which implementation has been authorized by the Autonomous Communities, for the school years of 2007-08 and 2008-09, respectively. 

The Universitary Master Studies (postgraduate training program) has been released in the school year of 2008-09 according to the title established proposal.

The program has its background in the Doctorate Studies taught in the bienniums 2001-03, 2003-05, 2004-06, 2005-07, 2006-08, 2007-09 y 2008-10, and developed in coordination with the ULPGC institutes and departments:

• IUSIANI (University Institute of Intelligent Systems and Numeric Applications)
• Mathematics department
• Computing and Systems department
• Civil Engineering department

These doctorate studies, which have the reference MCD2005-00180, has received and renewed the Doctorate Programs Quality Mention, for the school year 2005/2006 through an audit made by ANECA (June, 25^th 2005 resolution made by the State Secretariat of Universities and Research, BOE 07/14/2005) and for the school year 2006/2007 (August, 11^th 2006 resolution made by the State Secretariat of Universities and Research, BOE 08/30/2006). It is also renewed the baseline program with the Quality Mention corresponding to years 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 according to September, 19^th 2007 State Secretariat of Universities and Research’s resolution (BOE 10/12/2007) and the May, 4^th2009 Universities General Secretariat’s resolution.

The Doctorate Program is adapted to EEES, having received at June, 1^st 2009 the General Secretariat’s approval and, at January, 21^st 2010 has also received an official recognition with its pertinent registration in the Universities, Centres and Titles Registry (BOE nº 36, 02/10/2010).
